LO said Mama and Dada first. She's 21 months now and repeats everything we say. I love it :)

@pastemoo: ha he didn't!!! But it was in the back of my mind! I kept thinking "I hope he didn't hear her!" and my husband and I were trying to hold back squeals and high-fives. We didnt want to make a big deal out of it, and wanted to make it seem like it was something she did all the time. Haha!!

@FutureMrsMcK: I love baby raspberries!
Don't worry! I think all milestones also come with that "Is this the right timing? Too early? Too late?
@Boogs: Aww, sweet!
@Mrs. Jump Rope: I can only imagine. What kind of person sells a car that way? So cute. I know! Wasn't he just born? :P

Chloe's first word was dada. She said it while we were test driving my now car and I was terrified the salesman was going to use it to his advantage... Like "see, you haaaave to buy this SUV! Your daughter said her first word in it! Haha. (He didn't, though!)

She said so many new words between dada and mama, which she only started saying recently! She's 18 months old btw.

Hearing her talk is definitely bittersweet. We couldn't wait to hear her voice and listen to what shed have to say, but at the same time... Wasn't she just born?!

My LO's first word was mama. He says so many new words now (he's 2) and like you there's definitely mixed emotions. You part feel so proud like your LO is the smartest kid ever, and on the other hand how he is so grown so fast?!

I'm so jealous. No words from E yet, although he does have a fun new trick of blowing raspberries. DH and I have a "friendly" competition going about whether it will be "Ma" or "Da" but he'll probably say something completely different just to put us in our place (like "Nana"--would thrill his Nana, for sure!)

How do you feel about your baby's (babies') first words?

What were they?

My son has yet to say mama and that makes me a little sad... but is saying some fun stuff like spoon ("'poon"), hi dad, ball, bird, squirrel ("quirl"), box, tree ("tee"). That makes me proud.

All milestones seem to come with such mixed emotions (he's growing so fast, I'm so proud!, what if xyz?)
