I would guess it's because slavery is something we as a country were responsible for, so it's hard for people to wrap their mind around that morally, while the other two were things done to "us" by outsiders. I wouldn't agree that we don't remember with respect the victims of slavery--I think most people would agree that it was an atrocious mark on our country's history.
