I resisted getting it for a long time but have LOVED it. For most of the reasons listed here. I have the wifi-only version. Great to get vibrations when you have to completely silence your phone for meetings but still need to know if daycare is calling. Great for doing so many things hand free when I'm carrying/pushing LO around and don't have easy access to my phone. Great for workouts. Also, one of my fears with a cell phone is that I'll misplace it and there will be an emergency. I like the peace of mind of being able to do that immediately from my watch. Obviously it's a luxury and in no way necessary, but I have really, really liked it and can't imagine I'll stop wearing it while LO is still small at least.

I use it to keep me AWAY from my phone. I have a bad habit of being on my phone too much around my kids. So I put my phone up high in the kitchen cabinet and keep my watch on. That way, if someone calls or texts, I can answer on my watch, and I can control Spotify from my watch, without being sucked into the phone.

I know I could just do the same things on my phone using restraint, but I honestly can’t resist temptation. :meh:

I got the 3 for my birthday a year ago and I wore it everyday. I'm not a watch person. I wore fitbit for only a couple months and stopped but the apple watch I love. I do have the cellular feature so I can use it whenever and with 3 littles 6 and under, it just helps to have when I need to run in real quick somewhere. I ping it also several times a day. I'm a weather nerd and I can find that info right away. alarms for anything are great. I also have the RING on my doorbell and I can see whose at the door from the watch, etc.

@Mrs. Yoyo: this is dead on. I love mine (no phone line) I can go 2 days without charging and I use it to screen text messages particularly at work and I ping my phone all the time. I also love when I’m driving and it buzzes on my wrist to tell me where to turn

@Mrs. Yoyo: @nana87: I'm constantly asking my husband to call my phone, because I don't remember where I put it lol. The pinging feature would be nice!

@Foodnerd81: I wouldn't get the watch with cellular, since it's $100 more plus the monthly fee.

I think the bluetooth range has improved though, so even if my phone isn't right next to me, I should still be able to get calls and texts

I've had one for about a year and wear it a majority of the time. I like it because I usually keep my phone on silent, but it vibrates if I have a call. Or if I don't have pockets and my phone is down somewhere, I can still scan for emails, texts, etc easily. Esp. nice when I'm with my kids and don't want to keep my head in a screen but still waiting for a work email or whatever. I like the fitness and heart-rate tracking, as well as sleep tracking though that's not as good as an old fitbit I had a long time ago (I have an older model now though...). Also I misplace my phone a lot around home and can use the watch to ping it and find it!

Also, the battery life is much improved -- I can usually get two days without a charge.

I have a Series 3 and I love it. The fitness tracking is great and it's waterproof if you want to swim with it. If I start running again I plan to add it to our cellular plan so that I can run without my phone -- I'll be able to stream music and make calls from it, so it will be all I need.

As for daily conveniences, being able to ring my phone and find it is something I do at least twice a day, and I love being able to send quick voice texts from my wrist while driving. You can also set up Apple Pay on it, which can be really convenient.

I don’t have one but my friends that do love them. You don’t need to be near your phone anymore (but do need to pay a monthly fee for basically n extra line). So they can leave their phones in the car when they are at the playground or the gym but still be connected in case there is some emergency (like my sister went to a one hour exercise class and came back to 15 frantic messages and missed calls on her phone that she had left in the car because he son had fallen at school (he was fine)). You can even wear them in the pool. Another friend uses it for running to listen to music and be connected in an emergency, leaves her phone at home. But they also say they take fewer pictures because they don’t have their phones constantly on hand.

@cat620: I don't have an apple watch but have worked with people who wear them daily. I think it depends on your personality. I had a fitbit and got tired of wearing it after a few months, and I generally don't wear a watch so for me it is a fad item but for some of my coworkers they can't leave home without their apple watch

If you have an apple watch, do you still wear it? Do you find it useful?

I had the first generation of apple watch several years ago, but I stopped wearing it after a few months and ended up selling it. I didn't see the point of it, since I'm never far from my phone. I was also annoyed that I had to charge it every night or it would be dead the next day.

I keep seeing ads for the apple watch 4, and it's making me wonder if the new watch is so much better that I could start using one again. I know it's supposed to be faster and have better battery life. The fitness tracking has also greatly improved, and I could see myself liking that feature. However, I don't want to spend a lot of money on the watch only to stop wearing it after a few months again. My husband thinks the apple watch is a fad item and most people don't wear them long-term. Any thoughts on this topic?
