Instead, would get a large piece of plywood, paint that with the chalkboard paint, and mount it to the wall. We might do this eventually...right now, DD is in love with the learning tower I built her because I painted the larger boards on the sides with chalkboard paint. Drawing on it (or more accurately, pointing out what I have to erase for her) is one of her new favorite pastimes. We don't use an eraser, though, just one of those microfiber cloths wet with water. It keeps the dust down to a minimum. I don't find it messy, honestly. Dust does collect at the base. And D has now discovered the "fun" of clapping the eraser against the wall to make it "smoke."
