I'm meh on Anniston. Too much Jen connotation and as much as I love her, unless it was a maiden name, I don't know I could do it.

Side note: As a mama to a Rowan, it totally fits the bill for you. I just retread your kiddos names and I'm obsessed with Carter for a girl (and if our third kid is a girl (not pregnant!) then her name will definitely be Carter.) but I know that's too close to your DD's name. Other contenders for us that may be cool for you: Indie, Sloane, River, Greer, Hadley, Pepper

Without the actress connotation, I'd say its not my style, but it's not "bad"...ie if you feel like you need to let your husband pick the name this time, and it's his favorite, then go for it!

But I have to echo others that in the generation of people who grew up watching Friends, people are going to think of the actress, and it could come off as silly when it comes to making hiring decisions. It might not be fair, but it is something I try to think of when naming...I worked in HR for a bank as a summer internship, and remember how some of the women applying with more unusual names didn't get taken seriously.

Makes me think of Jen. Whatever you chose, go with your gut. Not everyone will like what you pick, but you need to be happy with it because name regret is no fun. Maybe a stretch with Ann, but what about Dylan/Dylann?

I like for your personal style and with your sibling names. I do think of Jen Aniston, but again, that will fade with this LO's generation. Also, I don't think boy but I live in a region where a ton of people use unisex names or "boy" names for girls so it's not weird to me.

@T.H.O.U.: Yes! He is either extremely girly (but mostly they are just girls names from history/literature and that's the only reason why - like Greek history, so way back) or solidly unisex. None of the more modern solidly female names appeal to him! Thankfully I do like unisex names and share his taste in that way but definitely feel like I have a bit broader taste. As for Anniston, it definitely fits our style. I'm not bothered by the "it sounds boy" or "last name" comments as M's name got similar comments but I feel like overall M's name had much more wide spread appeal than Anniston and I don't want to saddle her with a name that people think is ugly!

@oliviaoblivia: I just started a thread about that so I LOVE reading your post. That makes me feel so much better. I really feel awful (and that's likely pregnancy hormones) about the thought of not loving this sweet girl's name as much as her sister's. And I also really don't want to be one of those couples that has a baby and doesn't name it until it's like a week old. I always think that is SO weird but now I'm starting to get it.

@coopsmama: we really struggled with our third name too. I didn't officially agree to her name until we were in the car on the way to deliver. Now I absolutely love it. I never thought I'd love another name as much as I loved my first daughters name and then thought that again with my second. I truly love all three named equally. Four months ago I never thought I'd say that.
You'll find the perfect name.
Still love Rowan and Sloane in your sibling set.

@Synchronicity: I just can't decide if I should just give in and go with something I don't love-love and what the likelihood is that I will love it once baby girl is here down the road... I feel like everything I've suggested and loved has been a no go and since I at least like a few of the names he loves (not this one, after sleeping on it), should just go along with it? I'm realizing that probably happens a lot with naming kids.

@ShootingStar: I already spell my current daughter's name daily so that's a good point. In fact, we just got an invite today with it spelled incorrectly yet again today - drives me crazy.

@Smurfette: Too girly for a first name for our list (especially when put with my daughter's - not modern enough) but incorporates what we need/want in a middle name so I'm adding it to the middle name list. :)

@T.H.O.U.: Oh my goodness those are all sooo girly haha - my husband would shoot them down immediately. Hence why when I send him a list of 20 names maybe ONE is even a contender. And I'm trying to broaden my own tastes for him! 😝

@Mrs. Lemon-Lime: I do like the boyish/unisex feel and that it has a more girly nick name (Annie) possibility while still being more unisex. That's the thing keeping it on the list for now for me. I'm not sure why he likes it BUT now that you mention it reminds you of Anakin, I have to wonder if my Star Wars buff husband has thought of that!

@rachiecakes: @oliviaoblivia: @snowjewelz: @Synchronicity: @avivoca: @petitenoisette: @Cole: @JCCovi: @gingerbebe: Thanks guys. I'm realizing we hit the name jackpot with my daughter in that we found something we both really loved and that fit what we were looking for in a more modern unisex name. As we climbed into bed last night, DH sighed and said he doubted we'd have a name for this child before she's born considering that we've literally gone over a bajillion names in the last few months. (We've only known she was a girl two weeks but we've both suspected she was a girl since conception so most name talk was centered around girl names.) I tend to agree with him but also am realizing that the likelihood of both of us loving the name is going to be slim to none this go around. One of us will probably have to give.
