I'm less concerned about the gross factor (babies spit up and have diaper blow outs on everything, so everything is meant to be cleaned) but more about the safety.</p> <p>A friend offered to sell me hers, that she bought from another friend I know, so I'm sure it's never been in an accident but I'm wondering if 2 babies' worth of uses is too much. Her son only used it for 4 months till he was too long for it. Since I know who used it, know it wasn't in an accident, and they took care of it, we were fine with borrowing it. Along with the threes bases. She even rewashed it before bringing it over to use, since it was in the attic in a box. But our primary carseats (convertibles and boosters) will be new. Since you use them for so many years I think it's a good investment to buy new. What are your thoughts on purchasing a used car seat, given it's not expired and is in good condition? </p>
