ah okay. I would probably say something along the lines of what other PP's have said. Just have to be firm, I suppose. no means no :P

I say a few similar things "I've already answered your question and I am not going to answer it again." "I'm not going to tell you again" Or I turn the tables on her "Why, why, why?" questions. Ask them to answer the question instead. I find this to be really effective and she's always more than happy to answer.

While I was waiting for the article to open I had a few guesses. "Mommy said so" and "please stop it"...

I do something similar, but not only for questions... when I have to ask him to do something several times as well. I say "I'm not going to say it again." Sometimes preceded by "you already asked" or "I've asked 3 times". It really works!!

I think this is great for older kids, but I doubt a younger kid would be able to go through the sample conversation they give...but I do think the simple repeition of anything ("I said no") is a good idea! I don't think certain things should be a discussion with kids--you give your answer and that's it.

@blackbird: @Mrs. Jump Rope: Plus you can use it regardless of what the question was (sometimes the answer's not no, but something else) and this can be used for all situations.

I'm going to use this with my MIL.

@blackbird: I'm guessing this works better because "no" has a negative connotation, and "Asked and answered" reinforces what you've already done. It's a more gentle way of saying no.

Am I close? haha

@blackbird: I think it's just simple, repetitive and they hopefully will get tired of hearing it. Like, in this morning's discussion about candy at 6:30 a.m., I explained my answer several times in several ways, so maybe my kid was holding out hope?

How is it any different than saying, "I already said no"? Or does it just go over better with children?

So smart! Except for step 4...I have met some very smart kiddos that would bat their eyelashes and say something to the effect of "if you love me you will!" Never ask a question you don't actually want them to answer ;)

Saw this on FB this morning and I am eager to try it!

http://www.positiveparentingsolutions.com/parenting/end-child-nagging-negotiating-with-just-three-simple-words

Perfect timing after much back and forth this morning about why we can't have candy before breakfast or with our school lunch.
