Buying for 5 other people means we only spend $100 each but still get the joy of giving and receiving. For a the women in my family I'll usually make a cookbook, this years theme is camping/cookouts and I include pictures of us from different camping trips. Then I'll make something sweet from the cookbook to go with it. </p> <p>Another tip (which is too late now but will be helpful for next year) is to start early. I always pick up things when I see good sales no matter what month it is and put it away in my closet. And DH and I have yet to get each other a Christmas gift--I know some people wouldn't go for this, but we like saving the money! We started shopping really early to break the costs down, and did a fair amount of purchases at stores like Marshalls and TJ Maxx. For some relatives, their presents consists of baby pics in nice frames with a sweet note/poem. We also limited how many presents to buy. Some of them were bought new and some of them were bought used. You could easily buy off Half.com or go to a used book store or even thrift stores and find books.</p> <p>She bought me the Ann Rice Vampire Chronicles.
