When my kiddos are teething, they tend to gnaw on my nipples 🙄 so yeah, could just be teeth! :)

@twodoghouse: @kiddosc: thanks ladies. I'm feeling a bit better today so maybe, hopefully, it's not thrush.

It could definitely be teething. A just got her second tooth, and both times they came in I suffered through about a week of intense nipple pain because of her wonky latch. I thought maybe thrush the first time it happened and was about to make an appt to have them looked at, but it started feeling better so i waited it out a few days and the pain went away. Same thing happened when the next tooth came, so I'm convinced it's teething.

I get terrible pain and nipple blisters which lead to clogged ducts when my kids are teething. Their latches get a little shallow, but otherwise it's nothing noticeable from the outside. But something changes to cause considerable damage to my nipples! 😳

@Iced Tea: will try the coconut oil. It's weird be nursing isn't painful. Did your LO get it too? I'm more worried about LO getting it.

My thrush went undiagnosed for over a month because I was missing those more obvious signs. The most painful moment was during and after showering. So yeah, I think you could have it. Mine got really bad because it was untreated so long. It took a month of diflucan and then the addition of coconut oil to get rid of it. Now when I feel it coming back, though, I start applying the coconut oil right away and it shuts it down.

Starting yesterday my left nipple has been so tender when picking up Dd or drying off after a shower or pumping.
No white spots, rash, flaking, or burning though. And the right side is just a bit sore but not as bad as the left.
Idk if I'm just overreacting. Dd has been so fussy from either teething or sleep regression but strangely only wants boobs and screams when offered a bottle which she used to take fine. I couldn't find white patches in her mouth. She just sprouted her first tooth and I believe the second is likely to cut through soon.

Could my nipple pain just be from a bad latch or do you girls think it's thrush?

Do babies have a bad latch from teething?
