Thanks y'all, I think it was either thrush or mastitis trying to take hold. I had a fever for a couple hours (shortly after I posted), but (fingers crossed) things seemed to have pretty much cleared up!

Could it be your period? I’ve gotten weird pains right before my period.

I get this too sometimes, and I’m pretty sure it’s yeast trying to get a foothold, which would lead to thrush if it did. I only got thrush that needed treatment once.

This also comes with some weird localized stinging for me. Sometimes I apply coconut oil when it happens, and it has gone away within a day or two.

Could be....you could try taking some grapefruit seed extract to see if you’re symptoms resolve. The GSE worked very well for me. The nystatin that an MD would prescribe didn’t but work at all

So I'm having a weird new breast pain (baby #2 is ebf, 9 months old, #1 nursed for 2+ years, never had anything like this).

My breasts feel sore in the center, sort of deep in, similar to the soreness of being engorged or a clogged duct, but it's not either of those things. I have some nipple pain when nursing, but nothing like the broken glass thing I've read about. My nipples look normal and baby doesn't have any symptoms that I can see. I have some symptoms that could be a mild vaginal yeast infection, but it also seems to be clearing up on its own.

Does this sound like thrush? If so, is a doctor needed or might it go away since it seems mild? If I do need a doctor, will my midwife work? I don't have a primary care doctor. Thanks!!
