My LO used to suck his thumb, but stopped maybe a month or two ago on his own. He's also never really taken a pacifier. You wouldn't believe it, but sometimes I wish he was into either one! I wouldn't worry too much about it, I'm sure your LO will eventually grow out of it.

I've had a bad experience with my Stepdaughter sucking her thumb. She would do it all the time and get blisters. She had a staph infection enter through a blister and it put her in the hospital for a few days and affected her back very badly. That's why I don't want Maddy to suck her thumb.

LO also sucks her thumb and I am so glad for it. Like @Artbee said above, she is able to soothe herself back to sleep if she wakes up in the middle of the night. She doesn't use a pacifier, which I'm glad for (one less thing to worry about) and when LO gets sleepy, she puts her thumb in her mouth and it's a great indicator for me, too!

I don't have any suggestions to make it stop, though. But, at 11 weeks, I wouldn't worry too much about it just yet, unless it's something you REALLY don't want her to do. Sorry for the non-advice!

My lo sucks her thumb and it's been a God send. She started at 2 1/2 months and has slept 12 hours at night ever since. If she wakes up in the middle of the night she just takes a couple minutes to find her thumb and puts herself to sleep. No more getting up for us, it's awesome!

Anyone's LO's suck on their hands/fingers/thumbs? Maddy will be 11 weeks on. Sunday and she just started putting her fingers in here mouth this past week. She takes a binky for most of the time. I don't like her fingers going her mouth, but don't know how to stop her. Any suggestions?
