@baby98765: You're welcome! It's important to get this figured out so you feel better, plus for sure if you want to expand your family, since untreated thyroid problems can cause miscarriage and defects.

It's very common. I developed Hashimoto's thyroiditis and it was diagnosed about 6 months post partum when I finally called my doctor and said, "this is not normal. I am soooo tired, even more tired than when I had a newborn." she sent me for blood work and I was severly hypothyroid. I felt a lot better once I got on meds and it has like zero side effects. Wish I could say I started losing weight at that point but i didn't.

If you have symptoms ask for blood work. It's very very simple.

Has anyone experienced thyriod problems postpartum? I am almost 7 months postpartum, working out like crazy, eating really well and have cut out breads and sugars.. and I am gaining weight. It has been suggested that I might have developed a thyriod problem, which apparently can happen after pregnancy. I just wonder how common this is?

(Also, I couldn't find an appropriate "board" to put this on so please move it, if needed.)
