Hanna Andersson tights are decently thick. Quality is very good and colors are vivid, but they’re not true “warm” tights for the coldest winter months. If wearing with boots, Amazon has some good footless options - cable knit tights on the outside, minky fleece on the inside- if you want super-warm. Not as many fun colors, but my wanna-be tweens (7&9) love them. Search for fur-lined tights; they generally run quite small.

@meadow: I'm glad it's not just me!

@hitchhiker: Thanks, I will check them out (and watch for sales!).

@Mrs. Carrot: I will check there, too. I think I am shopping in the wrong season, so I may have to circle back closer to the fall.

H&M used to have them. I think they go up to size 12 or so.

Boden has these every year. They are expensive, but hold up well. My younger daughter wears one of three pairs almost daily and plays very hard; they are in decent shape approaching the end of the season.

I also bought a Cat and Jack pair at Target last week. Noticeably not as well made as Boden, but much cheaper!

ETA: The Boden ones have crazy patterns, which we love (we receive a lot of commentary about the duck ones in particular), but YMMV!

Any good sources for tights beyond toddler sizes? I am looking for the thicker cotton ones that are heavy enough to keep legs warm in cooler weather, in non-neutral colors.

I may just order from Primary again, as that is where we got the now-outgrown tights, but wanted to look around at other options. I have been surprised by how few I have found!
