@Jess1483: Yikes. I want a vacation but having a 5-6 hour hard sell isn't worth it.

Yes, but same experience: Hard sell (he eventually called us moochers and pretended not to know what it meant) and it took us 5-6 hours to get out.

@erinbaderin:, @pinkb:, @mommyfinger:, @ajsmommy: Thanks for the input. That's good to know about it taking longer and a very hard sell. She actually said that we could bring our DS with us, but obviously he couldn't hang out for several hours or watch us having to forcefully leave somewhere if they were hassling us.

She did say that there are 37 possible destinations and we're required to stay at a few choices of hotels at each place. So they were open about that. But I didn't think about blackout dates or only being able to use 2 at a time. I don't know. I really don't want to waste a Saturday, but I also *really* want a vacation.

I've done this multiple times and they have always honored what they promise. I have friends that have a time share and I've vacationed with them three times. Every time I do it...it's about 2 hours. I have gotten vouchers for a full spa day and one time we got a voucher for $200 resort credit.... At one resort we got vouchers to do all the extras at that resort

Eta: you do have to be Stern when you say no Ave they'll try to sell you two or three more times and it might get tense but they'll eventually give up... I've had them send in the manager to try to sell one last effort...... But just keep saying no thanks and you'll get out alive

I got a call wanting us to do the same type of thing and almost went. However, I talked to my brother who is always up on these types of things and he told me that it's not worth it. In order to use those flight vouchers, you have to book accommodations through them and they aren't cheap. Also, you can only use 2 at a time. So if you wanted to take your family of 4 on a vacation, you'd have to book two rooms. Wasn't worth the hassle so I didn't go. Basically, READ THE FINE PRINT!

That being said, if you're already on vacation at the resort, those are some times ok. Granted this was 10 years ago but I went with some girlfriends to Hawaii for a wedding. A few of us booked an activity that one girl didn't want to do so she stayed at the hotel. She decided to go to one of the presentations and said it wasn't that bad. Can't remember what she got out of it though.

My parents did it at a resort we stayed at recently. They did receive what they were promised but like @pinkb: said, they were told it was a 90 minute presentation and it actually took more like five hours. Four round trip vouchers sounds pretty generous, I would be skeptical too - I’d be wondering about max distances, blackout dates, extremely limited seat availability, etc.

I did. Ours was much on a smaller scale though. We were promised 2 tickets to a theme park and 2 tickets to one of the dinner theater things. We sat thru the presentation fine, they did not like to hear no and I actually had to get upset before they would let us go. the supervisor had to approve of us leaving. It was years ago and we were not in a place where we would have been able to afford anything they had. When we got back to the office where we had parked, because they bused us to a condo place for the presentation, I complained again and got cash instead of dinner tickets. So it was longer than the 2 hours they had said but we did get everything they promised.

Has anyone sat through a time share presentation and received what was promised ahead of time without signing up? Wyndham is trying to get us to come in for a 2 hour presentation with the promise that we will get 4 round trip airline vouchers but I'm of course skeptical and don't want to waste my time. Thoughts?
