We planned to start TTC after my 30th birthday. Got pregnant 1 month before my birthday, so could not have a sazerac in New Orleans on my 30th as planned lol

We tried to do the same. When we first started trying I was teaching and we wanted to make it where baby would be born after the next school year ended. I lost my job so it ended up not being important.

This is probably going to make me sound superficial, but I always calculate how far along I would be at Christmas because (1) I would want everyone to already know and (2) I know our families would give the "baby" Christmas presents. More for me to open!

We kind of did...one of the reasons we waited to start TTC is because I'm in a wedding in May, and it's in TX--I didn't want to be in my 3rd trimester and be unable to fly there. We also have a wedding in Sept, and I didn't want to be due that month so that we can attend the wedding. Now I'm due about a month after the Sept. wedding, so who knows--baby could decide to come a month early!

We sort of did the second time. We had a family trip planned to Disney World at the end of Sept/first of Oct last year and waited until after that to ttc. I'm due Sept 16 of this year so looks like we got pregnant on the second month of trying after the trip.

We just started this month, and AF is due on our 10 yr dating anniversary, so that would be cool! It wasn't planned though - we basically wanted to start trying this year, and I didn't want a Christmas baby, so we waited til after March. For all I know it could take til next March though :) I'm realizing you can't plan these things.

The hubby and I are part of a friend's bridal party so we waited close enough to their wedding date so that if I got my BFP, I wouldn't be showing (too much) at her wedding. This is our first cycle of TTC, and we're hoping to conceive so that we can have a Dragon baby!! Here's to us having a sticky baby on the 1st cycle!!

It's not out of the realm of possibility - we officially started TTC in August, and 2 days before our mid-September wedding anniversary I had a BFP. But yeah, try not to get your hopes up. I definitely had the "this would be so great to give for an anniversary present" thoughts and probably would have been completely crushed if it hadn't magically worked out.
That said, if you want to boost your odds, you might want to consider using OPKs to help you time sex better.

When we first started trying I imagined when we would tell everyone and how it would be so cool to announce at the holidays or a birthday party. I'm also in grad school, so I started thinking about the most convenient times to get pregnant so that I wouldn't have to take a semester off. We've been trying for 13 months, so I've pretty much determined that it doesn't matter to me if it's convenient timing.

We are in the minority though, so I really hope you get your BFP and can tell your hubby on your anniversary!

I am too superstitious to plan around events, kind of like if you hope to announce on a certain day, the fact that you are so focused on it will make it not happen, in a way.

I also couldn't really announce anything to my husband, he was always right around the corner when we were testing.

We TTC for 8 months and got pregnant twice during that time, both early miscarriages. Both times I got really excited because the first time we could announce to our families around our birthdays (I planned it all out) and the second time we'd be announcing around Christmas (also all planned out). Both of those events were really hard to get through knowing how the timing "could have" worked out. I found that I couldn't really help thinking about those kinds of things though. I hope that you get your BFP quickly, telling your husband on your anniversary would be very very special :)

Each month I thought of something we could time it with, but it never worked out.... Took us about 7/8 months - I was convinced it would happen first try! And for some it does... But we got our bfp just as we were considering moving across country - go figure - so it worked out to stay put!

@Dr. Pepper: I know, right? I ovulate on the fifth or sixth, and our anniversary is the twenty-sixth. It would be SO perfect, it's almost too perfect. That's why I'm trying to talk myself down. Fairytale perfect stories don't always work out...

We're starting TTC in June as well and if all goes well our first cycle, I will ovulate an or around our 1 year wedding anniversary and will get our BFP at the end of our big trip to NC. Also, our due date would be on my birthday (plus or minus a few days). I am having a hard time talking myself down from these things as well. But realistically, I can't count on it happening on try #1.

I tried to time my pregnancy around work. I had a three month window that would be most convenient. Well I ended up getting pregnant on the first try, but then quickly miscarrying. We had to skip the second month, and then got pregnant again on the first try (so the third month of my original window). I'm just over 9 weeks now and hoping this little bean sticks. I'm due around Thanksgiving so I'll be on maternity leave through the holidays which is a pretty quite time at work so really convenient.

I planned so much when we started TTC. I had it all planned out. Vacations, Holidays, daycare options, possible big moves. Now that I'm on my 6th month of TTC, I've somewhat stopping planning. I think it bummed me out when my plans didn't work out. My therapist says I'm a worrier and tend to think too far in the future.

We're planning on a private informal vow renewal (just the two of us).
We're going back to the place where we were married and saying our vows to each other again, and then have a picnic in the courtyard where we had our reception with some of the same foods from our wedding meal cupcakes in our wedding cake flavors.

I started daydreaming about giving him a wrapped gift, with either a pregnancy test or something baby related inside. How amazing would that be, on our first anniversary, at the place we were married!

Agh, I've got to get my head out of this or else I'll be so disappointed if we don't get pregnant right away...

As I've mentioned a couple times already on hellobee, we're starting ttc in June. Although we'd love to start now, we've decided to wait until June because we're in the middle of an international move and want to wait until we are settled.

I just looked at my chart and realized that if we get pregnant during our first cycle trying, we'd get a BFP just a couple of days before our first anniversary.
I started daydreaming about how awesome it would be to announce to my DH on our anniversary!

Now I'm trying to talk myself down, since I know it isn't THAT likely we'll get pregnant on our first cycle. Still, I'm having a hard time not dreaming about it!

Did you plan ttc around any events, and was it difficult for you to NOT make "what if we're pregnant" plans?
