I think that time is fine. Even works for the older crowd! Just be sure to provide substantial food and not just drinks and snacks. You don't want hangry kids, or adults! ;)

We did 10:30 to 1:30 for DS' 1st party. We did a brunch and it worked out perfectly between his two naps.

That's totally normal for a 1st bday party. We did 12-2pm for LO's first BDay and it worked great. She ended up doing her first nap a bit late that day and she wasn't melting down or anything at the end of the party despite it being beyond her nap time (which was typically 1:00/1:30 at that point).

Have fun! Make sure someone gets video (even if just iPhone video) of LO eating first cake. We didn't remember to do that, and despite having a professional photographer there, really regret not getting at least a few video clips.

I think that time is fine - we did both LO's 1st birthday and her baptism party at about the same time.

That's a common time in my circle! Usually play for an hour and then lunch at noon.

my daughter's first birthday party is in January. I'm creating the invites now, and debating on a time.. she naps in the morning and afternoon (usually 9 or 1 ish!) so I'm leaning toward doing 11-1 or so, so that even if she goes down a little late she isn't horribly off schedule.

Is 11 am too early for a birthday party? it's on a Saturday. I'm doing a hot cocoa bar and light desserts, and instead of typical lunch food could go brunch-y, which I love!
