@Truth Bombs: how did your GI apt go?? This morning DS had a red glob in his poop  I am SO upset. I really thought this formula was working well. I just don't get why it would take over 2 weeks for blood to show up?? And he is eating/sleeping/content so I am just not sure what to do. I called DS's pedi and made an apt for tomorrow but not really sure what will come of it. Waiting for a call back from his GI dr too.

@NovBaby1112: I believe it's just a difference in where the blood is happening. So if it's lower in the digestive track it will come out red. If it's higher up it has time to be digested before it ends up in his poop.

@Truth Bombs: ugh, this is so stressful! Good luck today, I hope you get some answers!! I also tried eliminating gluten, eggs, beef, peanuts, so tough.... I wonder if maybe it was something I didn't eliminate and its going through his system now? Also, what is the difference between red blood that I was seeing when I was on elimination diet and these black specks/digested blood now?

@NovBaby1112: oh yeah if you had already eliminated prior to the two weeks then it's possible his allergies are more extensive since the dairy and soy should be out of his system 😔 We are actually taking our 3 month old son to GI this morning because I've eliminated dairy, soy, gluten, eggs, fish and nuts and his poop is still a mess.

@Truth Bombs: yes! Exactly like coffee grounds. So do you think this means we will have to go to neocate or elecare?? I was on an elimination diet of dairy/soy prior to switching so I guess I'm not sure what would be clearing through his system? I'll def call his GI dr today though

Does it look like coffee grounds? That's what digested blood looks like in poop so I would definitely call your doctor. If he has dairy/soy issues, it can take longer than two weeks for the allergens to fully clear his system so this is probably just part of the process but I would call.

I never thought I would spend so much time analyzing poop. The last few days DS has had tiny black specks/spots all throughout his poop...I'm just wondering if this is normal?? We switched him over to Alimentum RTF about 2 weeks ago and he seems to be doing so much better, no more mucus or red blood in his poop. Going to call the pedi today about this but wanted to check first to see if anyone else experienced this?
