@Miss Ariel: Our masks fit/stay on great - I think they'd just fuss with the additional fabric. But thanks for the suggestion - my oldest likes to use some of those wide Lulu Lemon style scrunch headbands for dual purpose as a mask.

Really I just need to label what we have, and probably should just order a bunch more of the tiny Oliver's labels, since I assume school will do away with shared supplies and we'll need to label all that too! :)

@PinkElephant: our school is requiring gaiter style masks. Although I’m not sure how effective they’ll be. Is that an option?

I know Disney World won’t allow them, and said masks there have to go behind the ear.

@JJ2626: This is what I did -- wrote his name on the inside with a sharpie. It worked well! You can't see it from the outside. Not that it really matters, I guess, haha.

I use the Avery labels for clothes also, and they are amazing! Just write with a sharpie and stick on, and they stay through multiple washes. I buy this variety pack that has both small and large sizes:

I ironed on labels on Sunday to my daughter’s fabric mask. I just used the round stickymonkey Etsy labels I use on everything else and they seem fine. They are so thin and smooth that they aren’t itchy and lay perfectly flat.

Smart about the paci clips! I buy name bubbles mainly bc they are so cute. They have tiny ones - and iron ons I think.

@lilyofthewest: This is smart - thanks! I might add a loop anyway for threading onto lanyards/paci clips, so it could be dual purpose.

@MrsSRS: True. I accidentally ordered big labels instead of the tiny ones last time (kicking myself) and really don't want to spend $60 on more labels...maybe I'll just get one set of the tinies with our last name only so all three girls can use them.

@JJ2626: I may do that! I do a lot of BST with my kids' clothes, so I'm just not in the habit of writing on ANYTHING, but obviously I don't intend to resell masks, so it would be fine!

The Hanna Andersson ones fit my petite 3 year old best. We also have some "Mad Engine" ones from Target that are ugly, but small. Some of the Old Navy kids ones fit, but others are way too big - there is variability in the pack. From pictures I've seen posted online of older kids wearing them, I think that there is variability in the sizing of the Hanna masks as well, but ours are small (purchased on Facebook from a mama who was selling them because they were too little for her kids).

I saw someone just write the kids initials on the inside of the mask in sharpie. Might be easier!

Semi-related: what masks do you have for
2-3 year olds? They are all too big for my small 2.5 year old. The ear loops fall right off.

I've added a little loop of ribbon onto the elastic and put my kiddo's name on that. Soft, flexible, no poking.

We have namebubbles and I haven't tried them on masks yet, but I would think any of the name labels designed to go on clothes would be fine. I'd just put them on the outside not the inside. And most of them have a tiny size option.

@pachamama: Oooh thanks! And that doesn't run in the wash?

My three year old actually is great about wearing a mask, as is my two year old neighbor. Honestly, I think they mess with them less than their older siblings do! She gets to choose her mask from our stash, and to her it's just like picking a necklace/bracelet/shoes (girlfriend loves her accessories).

We have to label everything (gloves, muddy buddy etc) at my son's preschool and we use these. I write on them with a Sharpie. They are so easy, they've really worked out. You can cut them down tiny and make initials https://www.walmart.com/ip/Avery-Fabric-Labels-Washer-Dryer-Safe-1-2-x-1-3-4-54-Labels/376008248

GREAT idea about the paci clip! Also... 3 year olds with masks?!!!😷😬

So....my school district just sent a letter saying that they are aiming for in-person school in the fall, and that all children will wear masks.

I already have a stock for my kids, but would like to label them. I feel like the typical Oliver's stickers we use to label things for school will be itchy/awkward. Has anyone ever used that white old school iron-in labelling tape? Or have another idea? Maybe I'm gross, but I'd like to have my kids' masks returned if they're left behind/dropped/confused with another child's mask - I'd just wash them and put them back into rotation....given the costs of masks and the possibility that they might become hard to replace if everyone ends up needing a bunch this fall, I want to do what I can to help my kids keep track of ours.

I'm totally thinking of using paci clips to clip them onto my 3 year old and maybe even my 6 year old's shirts, so if they are allowed to remove them at some point in the day they don't wind up on the floor.
