Just bumping this to say- I do NOT recommend handy.com! (Formerly Handybook) just no showed for the second time this week so I'm done setting aside time to let them in. Don't bother.

@Foodnerd81: Oh, that's a really good deal! Wow, I wish I had known that tip was included. I wonder if it was back then. I think we usually gave like $15 or $20 for a 3 hour cleaning.

@catlady: how much did you tip? A percentage of what the total cost was supposed to be before coupon? And yeah, I don't like that it will just be different people. I'd prefer it be the same person so I would feel comfortable leaving while they are cleaning. But the coupon is for $29 for a 3 hour cleaning- can't beat that! I've read tip is included (like with uber) but if I'm only paying $29 I want to make sure the person actually cleaning is being fairly paid.

@Foodnerd81: We used handy (I think it was called handybook back then) and had mixed results. I think we used them 6 times and only got someone we'd had before once, so 5 different people. A couple were really good (and I kept trying to get them again but it never scheduled them), a couple were so-so, and the last one we had was just awful. She was so bad that we cancelled and haven't gone back. So it's sort of luck of the draw. I say it was worth it with the coupon. We gave up after paying the full rate for awhile. Oh, and we always tipped.

If you use a cleaning service (not just a single person who comes and tells you their price and you pay them), you should also tip, right? We've only ever used an individual who sets their own price, so I just paid what they say. We have a service coming this week, and got a coupon in the mail, so it's really cheap. Trying to figure out what or if I should tip the person/people who come and clean.

Also anyone ever used handy.com? We got their mailer and decided to try it out. I'll be home but still, anyone else we used was always a friend recommendation.
