I like to put my stuff out and not have it be moved. We also don't make a mess of the hotel room so it's never seemed necessary. We just call down and ask for things if we need them. On the other hand, housekeeping is a hard job, tough on the body, generally performed by women (often immigrant women) who are paid minimum wage, so it's a nice thing to do. Just more comfortable having no one else going in and out of our rooms.
