I have cruised with kids a lot! from 7 months up. Standard rooms just have a shower so I used a blow up tub at the bottom of the shower. Also the doors are not very wide so I bring a stroller that is not very wide and used my front pack. Pack plenty of diapers and wipes. The cruise line will provide a crib. but not crib bedding . They use regular sheets. The staff has always been very helpful.

Oooh and something to rinse your kids as you will likely only have a shower Our shower head did detach but if your kids have never been exposed to a shower you might be glad you had something more gentle to rinse them.

We cruised for 9 nights not long ago with our 4 year old. Not exactly the same situation but I was glad that I packed complete outfits, dish soap to have in the room for washing sippy cups and water bottles. We had travel games for dinner (we 3 adults and 1 child so that made a HUGE difference!) , prepacked all might need medicine and a thermometer, BANDAIDS . We also didn't have any expectations in the sense of adult entertainment. My husband and brother went to shows at night and I stayed in the room (I go to bed early anyway) We are beyond the stroller age so I'm not sure if that made things easier or harder. Oooh, we also got a balcony room in case we were stuck in the room we still had a nice place to sit.

@Kitkat: There is the king bed for you, the sofa turns into a bed, and a bed directly above the sofa that is in the ceiling. I would never have noticed it until it was pulled down prior to our arrival. If you still need a pack and play, there is not much room for it.

I've never been on a cruise with kids but I feel like I've read so much about this topic that I retained some tips!

1) People say a lot of your room walls are metal so people like to bring magnetic hooks as storage

2) If a kid is not potty trained I don't think they're allowed in the main pools; people would bring small blow up pools so they can still be a part of the action pool side

3) If there are different dinner seating times and you can reserve, definitely reserve the earliest seatings so kids are least cranky. I also read that most cruises are super accommodating and will make anything for the kids to eat

4) People with young kids tend not to do too much excursions; that way when everyone's off the boat the kids can run around and enjoy the ship

I think you'll have a great time!

Thanks, great tip about the ziplock bags! What where your sleeping arrangements? I’ve only been on one cruise before and I’m having a hard time imagining how four of us are going to fit in one of these rooms.

My kids were a little older when we went on our last cruise (2 &4) but what surprised me the most was how helpful the staff was on our cruise. It was not a very popular destination with kids, so we also got a lot of help from fellow cruise goers who mentioned how much they missed their grandkids ;) We ate a lot of breakfast and lunches in our room so the kids could run around since they had to be pretty well behaved for the rest of the day. I packed as light as possible and kept outfits in gallon ziplock bags so it was easy to grab and go. We had a great time and the kids loved it - safe travels to you!

Looking for all your tips and tricks for cruising with two little kids. Ours will be 14 months and 2y11m when we go on a 7 day Alaska cruise next month. It sounded like a great idea when we booked it months ago, but now I'm getting a little anxious about all the logistics :silly:
