@Smurfette: @emg86: They're all firemen, police, and state employed lawyers' kids, so everyone else gets dropped off between 6:00 and 6:30! It's a center that accommodates rolling schedules, so I'm not surprised there are a lot of us there :)

I don't have any advice, but WHAT?! A nap at 8/830 sounds a bit crazy to me!

I wouldnt put him down for a morning nap. Just have him nap with the class. He will still take two on the weekends for awhile. R took one nap at day care for two months before she would at home.

Side note, I can't believe they nap that early. There is no way at 14 months R would have taken at nap that early. Plus aren't people dropping off at 8?!

We don't. She takes one nap at daycare (usually from 12-1:30/2) but still takes 2 naps at home on the weekend. She doesn't have any issue going back and forth!

ETA: the days he goes to daycare I just wouldn't have him nap before dropoff. Then he can nap with the class.

LO has always done the schedule at daycare, and done a different schedule at home on weekends with no issues! He might adjust no problem

At 14 months, do you think he can drop down to a single nap? Our daycare goes down to one nap at 1 year, and DD adjusted very well to that change. That way the only challenge is keeping him up until just after lunch for his nap, rather than trying to get him to wake up earlier.

DS starts daycare next week, at 14 months old. The only problem is the nap schedule. His class naps at 8:00 or 8:30 and again at 12:30. Right now he is going to bed at 8:30 PM, waking at 8 am, napping 10:30 am-12:00 PM, then naps 3:30-5:30 PM.

He will be arriving at daycare at 11:30 am so he can eat lunch with his class. How can we adjust his schedule at home to fit his daycare class?
