My LO loooooves helping daddy with outside chores so that's great on the weekends. She also likes helping me get ready for the new baby so organizing his clothes, putting things in drawers, getting diapers ready, etc. and even something as simple as just bringing things upstairs to our rooms to unclutter the downstairs is fun for her.

Helping with laundry - putting dirty clothes in the hamper (particularly awesome when DH leaves clothes on the floor!), putting clothes in washer/dryer, and helping to sort dark/lights into piles/baskets (helps that DS is obsessed with shooting basketball and it's basically the same motion/concept). It definitely takes longer but it's 2-for-1 entertaining DS and getting chores done. DS is only 14 months so no folding laundry yet ha!

I recently bought my son one of those lettuce knives, he uses it to cut up vegetables. In the kitchen, I will let him do as much as he wants, including cooking at the stove. This began this year and I trust him completely, he understands he is not to touch the stove without me there and he knows it gets hot.

As for other chores, he also vacuums and helps my husband with the leaves and lawn chores. He's almost 5 and he's really into helping.

We basically let her do a good amount in the kitchen as long as it's not rsw meat. She cracks and whisks raw eggs, cut veggies, dumps ingredients. I do not let her near the hot stove. She loves to help put laundry in the wash and dryer. She can fold washcloths, towels, put away laundry. She helps to feed the dog. She loves to get forks and napkins and set the table. When I'm getting her a snack, I'll have her get her own water and cup, and bowl for the snacks.

Share you favorite tip to get your lo to help you with tasks around the house.

My 3 year old loves to help. If she's having a meltdown, she will come out of it if I ask her to help me with something. Tonight I found our wok doesn't get hot on the outside so I let her add all of the ingredients to it for our rice. She also cracked and whisked the eggs, measured the peas and helped me cut the pork.
