Ugh. I've been there!! I just nursed directly after throwing up bc I had a few minutes of feeling better at that time. It was so awful, sorry you're going through it!! I hope it passes really soon.

Ugh, I feel for you. I've had two stomach bugs while nursing but none while she was a NB. Gatorade, and side lying nursing, if you two have gotten the hang of it, those feel like the only reason we survived! Feel better.

Hugs!! It feels awful but many of us have survived. Keep baby close and rest. I hope you have someone to look after you. If not, call in some reinforcements.

I agree with @Applesandbananas. Do lots of side laying nursing and spend the day in bed! Sip fluids and stick to a BRAT diet: bread, rice, applesauce toast.
Ginger is good for nausea. Whatever you do, don't drink peppermint tea (which can help with nausea too) because it will decrease you milk supply!

@Dandelion: yep - I had it 3 weeks post partum, nursing constantly. It isn't always because of a clog - it can just look like a red bump on the breast. Symptoms can mirror flu-like symptoms. Easily treated though with antibiotics

Well I had some soothe tea and pretzels (no crackers here) and it's starting to subside. Thanks for the tips! I'm definitely camped out in my bed with M in the pnp next to me. DH has been pretty helpful.

I think the rainy weather doesn't help either!

@Mrs. Confetti: can you get mastitis when nursing 24/7? I don't feel burning but thanks for the head's up.

We commandeered the bedroom and did tons of side-lying nursing. DH also fed him the occasional bottle of pumped milk so I could just get a good stretch of sleep. I think waking up every 30min-2 hours to nurse makes it really hard to recuperate, so he took a feeding to help me get more rest.

Just make sure it isn't mastitis in disguise - keep your eye out for a clogged duct/burning feeling in your breast. Feel better soon!!!!!

I've had two stomach bugs in last two months with my NB also. I just stuck to sprite, crackers, tons of water, and attempts at rest. DH had to help a lot. Drinking tea helped me some.

I woke up at 2 am with a rock in my stomach. I've been puking some but it has subsided. I'm sipping water, skipping coffee (cry) and trying to rest. Of course I also have a 19 day old baby going through a growth spurt.

Any quick nausea fixes? I have an over supply so thankfully I don't need to worry about that.

Anything to watch out for with M?
