Just keep taking prenatal vitamins and you should be okay. At least I think that's what my OB told me. I had my first 6 months shy of being 35 and my second 7 months shy of being 38 and both were healthy, full-term babies. Everyone is different and your OB would be the best person to ask about this since he/she knows your history. My OB also said that I shouldn't have a problem since I had a healthy first pregnancy.

My only advice would be to be proactive. I assumed that because we got pregnant on the first try at 34, the same would be true at 36. Not so. My doctor was very proactive though and when it hadn't happened at 5 months I asked her what we can do and she did a bunch of blood tests. Turns out I have diminished ovarian reserve and now and seeing an RE. So glad I didn't waste more time! I hope it's easier for you though! Good luck!

I was 36 and 39 when I conceived our daughters. We didn't do anything special. My risks were higher and the genetic screenings were a bit more worrisome. My risk for GD was also higher. Which I've had twice now. The GD resulted in extra monitoring and induction.

@Mrs. D: I think the only thing to be conscious of is to make sure you are getting a ton of folic acid every day in your prenatal...I will be 2 mos shy of 35 when I deliver this one, and that was the only thing that I had read to really make certain to do when TTC in mid-30s. Obviously the risk of Downs goes up naturally, but lack of folic acid can contribute to risk, so it's good to get a lot of folic acid ahead of time. I was on the chewable prenatals and I think it was 800 mcg (mg?) per day and that seemed to be plenty, but my OB immediately wanted me to stop taking those when I got pregnant to get on a better prescription prenatal...So maybe even call to your OB and get a Rx prenatal? Other than that, you're probably good to go:)

We're not TTC just yet, but will be within the year.
We already have a beautiful 2.5 year old daughter, but she needs a sibling.
I'm 35 now, and so I want to know if there are any tips or advice other mamas over 35 have for those of us TTC in this age bracket.
We had no trouble getting pregnant with our first daughter, in fact we were simply not preventing for the second month when my test came back positive.
