Then I put the older down. They go to bed at 7/7:30 and 8, respectively, so it works fine. I diaper DD2 in the bathroom while DD1 plays with tub toys, then get them both dressed in pajamas together in DD2's room. We all say bedtime prayers while I nurse DD2, then DD1 picks out her bedtime stories and plays in her room while I read to DD2 and put her to bed. I then do stories in bed with DD1. It's harder but not dramatically longer than when DH is there. How old is she?</p> <p>Bedtime is such a mess in our house. I handle it solo three nights a week. The kids are both ready for bed around 8:30 and it goes really well when DH can take care of DS's routine while I nurse DD... but when it's just me I bathe and change DD, put her in her crib, and she screams the whole 20 minutes it takes me to brush DS's teeth and bathe him, while I beg him to hurry up :crying: </p> <p>Tried putting the baby to bed first, but she can take an hour to actually fall asleep so no dice. Tried getting her to nap later so she's not overtired... no dice. LO1 goes and brushes teeth while I change DD2's diaper. </p> <p>We all rock in the chair in the nursery and read 3 books. </p> <p>I put DD2 in crib </p> <p>Then I go to DD1 room and we start our awful routine of trying to get her to stay in her bed. I've had the most luck when we all sleep in the same room, but I don't like to set that precedent!</p> <p>Last night I totally failed to get them both down by myself though. I think I'm doing it wrong... would love some tips and pointers! </p>
