Hmm I did have a class of coke that morning which was unusual for me, I don't like tea or coffee so no caffeine normally. Maybe that didn't help.

Mine was high with both, I had to work from home towards the end with both pregnancies. I also ended up doing the 24 hour urine collection with both to check for protein and pre-e.

I definitely saw a difference if I didn't have coffee right before my appointments and if I made my appointments first thing in the morning, blood pressure was lower.

Wish I had some advice! I had high BP at 37 weeks. They suspected Pre-E and put me on bedrest for a few days. We were prepared for possible induction at this point, but bedrest seemed to help my BP, and my urinalysis came back normal for protein, so I didn't have pre-e. I went into labor at 38 weeks, my BP spiked again and I ended up giving birth at the hospital instead of the birth center (thankfully the midwives still attended me) so that I could be monitored after birth. My bp returned to normal pretty quickly.

If you have the option, I would just take it very easy. Stay home and rest, don't do more than you have to. Good luck!

I can do all of those (the bed rest will take willpower though) thanks for your suggestions! Hopefully some good results on Wednesday!

I was on bed rest due to high BP starting at 23 weeks until I developed pre-e and delivered at 34 weeks. Bed rest and laying on your left side are the most effective tips, but ultimately your body is going to do what it's going to do. Try not to stress (impossible, I know!) and take it easy as much as you can. Oh and drink tons of water! Good luck!!

My sister had pre-e. Her blood pressure was reduced by doing the following:
- Bed rest (not sure how feasible this is for you)
- Cutting salt out of her diet (made a huge difference)
- Laying on her left side

So I had my 36 week check up today, my blood pressure was 138/90. I can just about get away with that and not need further monitoring etc but my midwife is going to check it again on wednesday and of it is 140/90 or above, she will have to refer me...
Has anyone got any tips on how to reduce bp in late pregnancy? I have a strong family history of pre e so I know I am already nervous about it being high (which doesn't help)!
