@travellingbee: I started wearing my LO in the moby very early- maybe 4 weeks? I still had to hold a hand behind her head because I never felt like I tucked it right. I tried tucking her legs in at first but she seemed to like them out more, and I think now the recommendation is to start with them out. My LO didn't like the beco for a couple of months. Then she loved it until she got too tall for it at like 19 months!

My son ran hot and never really loved being worn but we did do a Boba wrap when he was a newborn to just snuggle when he was fussy and then switched to the Ergo360 bc he would only tolerate facing out. Backpack carry was okay but he got really into hair pulling so it was annoying.

Thanks all. Do I start wearing him like right away? And I tuck his legs into the carrier rather than legs out at first right?

I used the ergo a lot with LO1, but I wouldn't say he loved it--more like he tolerated it. For LO2 I just got a beco gemini because I think the facing out ability will be helpful once she is able to look around and will keep her more entertained.

@Foodnerd81: The fresh air did wonders for my LOs too! I used to walk in circles around our backyard with them in the Moby.

I think the natural tendency is to put baby in the wrap when he's fussy or grouchy, but I suggest trying it at first when he's just fed, cozy, and ready to snuggle. Set yourself up for success! Eventually he'll equate it with comfort and it'll work to calm him down. If you can breastfeed or give him a bottle in the wrap, that works wonders to get baby to equate wrap with good things.

My baby is one that just loved it from early on, but not when we were inside. So my tip is to get baby situated inside, in front of a mirror, then even if he or she is crying, go outside and take a walk. When my DD was tiny shed cry as I put her in but when the fresh air hit her face she would calm down. Eventually it became the only way I could get her to nap. She was never one to want to be in the carrier inside our condo though.

I had a beco Gemini so she could face it but we both preferred facing in. The moby was way better for us for the first few months though.

Just put them in right from the get go. Maybe make sure you are going to be moving steadily when you do, like going for a little walk outside or doing chores around the house. DS really liked the motion, it puts him right to sleep. We started with DS around 2 weeks and now it's the only place he will nap.... Sometimes annoying, but helpful when you are on the go and they can nap wherever you are.

My oldest was the same way. We tried a baby k'tan and baby Bjorn and she would just scream and scream in it.

With my second she still screamed when we started. But after the first few times she stopped and eventually even started napping in it! A god send when you have an older sibling to take care of too!
I just stared putting her in the Beco as soon as she was heavy enough. I started in short spurts of times at home. And slowly over the first few times she got used to it. She's 15m now and will still let me wear her but she definitely doesn't *love* it like I know some babies do.

I hope your second likes it!

My toddler never liked being worn no matter what I did. He didn't like facing in and would freak out. It was also hot here when he was born and he still doesn't like to be held so I guess that's just him. I have a bad neck so I can't do any positions that pull on neck muscles. But I really want to be able to wear #2, who is coming soon! It will be colder and I'm hoping to get him used to it right away. I have two wraps and an ergo with infant insert. Any tips to get started right away with this one and get him used to it?
