My son didn't become very interested in using utensils until about 14-15 months. My daughter has been interested and pretty successful with utensils since about 11 months. I wouldn't push it too hard, just keep offering. With my son, I would let him hold utensils while I still helped feed him with a 2nd spoon, he eventually caught on.

T is 12 months and we are trying to start utensils. He definitely only sees them as a toy and wants to play with them/put them in his mouth (the wrong way :silly: ) instead of eat his food at all.

We've show him over and over and he eats meals with us so he sees us using them too. But it inhibits him from eating much when he has them because he just wants to play so I haven't been consistent on giving them to him.

Any tips?

PS. Probably won't be responding much. About to pass out for the night.
