Both LOs screamed their heads off during their first visit. We also asked about what looked like a cavity and it was a stain. At one year we went and no prob - he actually was more apprehensive at age 2. The first visit was just a little look, a fluoride application and a brushing lesson for mom and dad. I would also try to schedule when your LO is usually the happiest, not hungry or tired. They probably won't really do anything except a quick look. </p> <p>They had me hold LO and lay his head on the dentist lap and she examined him upside down. That was about it.
