Luckily with LO1. We had to get help to unload the heavy stuff but I really just did everything else as I would usually, for better or for worse. If I did it again I would definitely hire cleaners for all the cleaning and get movers. We had movers but it was a lot of time on my feet packing and unpacking and moving things around. My husband had just started a new job and was virtually unavailable. My mom came and helped me one day and that helped a bunch (she unpacked my entire dining room in an hour lol). It took us a two months to get settled. We moved across the country when I was 34 weeks pregnant with DD2 and DD1 was 21 months. Take it slowly and be methodical. Have a realistic number of boxes to pack per day starting with the things you won't need urgently and using a system to keep track of boxes and make unpacking easier. Save your LO's spaces for the end, and if possible, have them stay with a grandparent for the last night or two before the move so you can pack their space and clean uninterrupted. Get help for the last week as needed. Don't lift already-full boxes! Movers packed along with moving, but we were responsible for unpacking. It took time, but just rest as necessary. We did hire movers for the big stuff but the rest was no big deal. We also paid to have our old place professionally cleaned because I just didn't have time and energy between moving/LO#1/work/school/ and being pregnant. The extra help was totally worth the extra money. I also did a bunch of painting and little jobs around the house before we moved in and planned where everything was going to go. I was in great shape and felt good so it wasn't as awful as it could have been. It was actually frustrating because I wanted to do more than I could. It's tough to carry boxes when you have a belly! Just make sure you have help, drink plenty of water while packing and unpacking. What I underestimated was how sore and tired I would be after! It took me a month to pack our little condo. Moving day I was 35 weeks. Luckily family moved everything and I sat and directed traffic. Then my Mom, sister, and Aunts unpacked the whole kitchen while I told them where to put stuff. I don't know how we would have done it without all the help we had.
