@MrsTiger: that's awesome!

@blackbird: he was pretty attached to a little girl there but she moved to the toddler room and he hasn't seem too phased by it. He loves his teachers in the infant room (the toddler room teachers aren't so great though, I've seen them on their phones while the kids play) so I'm worried about all new faces. At his old daycare, they transition slowly over the course of a week. At first, he was supposed to spend an hour in the toddler room, then go back to his room for the rest of the day. He hasn't really shown much attachment to stuff, but I was hoping that sending something that smelled like home would be helpful.

I bet he does great! Was he really attached to anything at his old daycare? All the news toys and little friends will make it easier :)

She's 18 months. At her old daycare she would scream bloody murder at drop off and at her new one on day two she just smiled and waved!

He'll do great. We just moved our daughter and I was totally freaking out about it too but she's been doing amazing. Our new one is in our town too and the extra time plus not commuting with her in the car is so awesome, she is a lot happier. Even if it's tough at first it will get better, but I hope it goes well for you!

Tomorrow's the day, we are moving our 12.5 month old to a new center and I am terrified. Mommy guilt is in full force.

He's been at his current center since 15 weeks and I thought it was amazing but the director left and the new director is behaving more like a dictator. I disliked her as a teacher and dislike her even more as the director.

The new center is brand new and gorgeous. Huuuuge classrooms, excellent ratios, closer to home (which gives me nearly an extra hour a day with LO!!!) and more flexible.

I think it's the right choice to move him but I'm so nervous. He's had a rough past few days with his one year shots, wonder week, cutting molars, having a cold, working on walking, fighting naps... I'm scared he's going to have a difficult transition. Thankfully this week I can do a few short days to try to ease this transition but I'm hoping the bee will have some other tips?

Or maybe just some words of encouragement? I'm freaking out.

I'm going to take his pillow and blanket that smell like us, like home. He's going to do a half day Monday, 6 hours Tuesday, 7 on Wednesday, 7 on Thursday, and a full day Friday.

ETA I want to transition him this week because at his current center he would be transitioning to the toddler room this week so I don't want him to transition to the toddler room, then to a new daycare a couple weeks later.
