Oh I second the gel mani! Even if I haven't had a shower yet today or combed my hair there's something about having a nice intact manicure that makes me feel more like a person

Start a project that will take a while. I always sew a dress, or some involved craft project that will take my mind off waiting. The last few weeks should be measured in months instead of days!

YES to the mani/pedi- I would not do gel though because yo wil have to go back to the salon to get them removed OR it at home with foil on your fingertips!

Read a couple of good books.

Long bubble baths.

Stock up on freezer meals! Especially things like breads and muffins. I found that having dinners was great but I always needed snacks!

Get a manicure and pedicure and a haircut ASAP. And splurge on gel - it will last longer! It took me FOREVER to get any one of these after my baby was born.

Go shopping for comfortable PJs and bathrobes to lounge in at home with baby.

Go buy foaming hand soap at Bath and Body Works and get a good hand cream while you're at it!

Come up with some cooking projects, like frozen muffin and cookie dough.

Indulge in looooooong showers and baths.

Line up books and magazines to read.

Plan a special day with your LO1, like a special lunch date.

Go out to eat with your partner - that was one piece of advice someone gave me when I was pregnant and I'm so glad we took it. Eat out at a nice restaurant and really savor a good date night.

Come up with a little gift or write a nice card/letter to your partner telling them how much you appreciate their help with 2 kiddos.

Write a letter to LO1 and LO2 to give to them when they grow up about how you are feeling right now before this big transition.

Come up with thank you goodie bags for your hospital staff (think coffee stuff!)

Go buy some nice thank you cards - you will be sending them for ages.

Gah, I hear you! I've been off work for a week and a half, and the waiting is killing me, but work was getting impossible. So far this week I've had a massage, a mani/pedi, spicy Indian lunch with a gf, walked around Home Depot and Walmart, read a book, done yoga, taken 2 super long baths, and cleaned like crazy. I've also taken a nap almost every day, because I really can't sleep at night.

My doc is convinced that I will go past my EDD, which is Wednesday, but will induce me at 10 days past. Not sure I can handle 2 1/2 more weeks of waiting. Good luck to you and I hope your LO arrives soon!

Pamper yourself! Going to the movies, getting a massage, a pedicure... all great ideas you've already gotten!

Are you crafty? Maybe work on a project?

Invite friend/s over for a girly afternoon (mocktails, movies, face masks, games, gossip, whatever you enjoy!)

@Anya: I live in the middle of nowhere and our mall is terrible! There's a nicer one 30ish mins away. I'll have to head there if I'm still waiting next week (God, I hope not!!!)

@blackbird: it is terrible! I would love a massage but I don't want to pay for one now that I'm off of work! Ugh!

ahhhh this is the worst! I second a pedicure, maybe a massage? The right therapist can maybe put you into labor :)

I really struggled with this too. Do you like crosswords or sudoku? I found doing puzzles a little more engaging than reading. I also took a bath everyday, that passed some time. I went to the mall everyday to get a walk in (bad weather so I couldn't walk outside) and when I got tired, stopping to browse in every store helped pass the time too.

@MenagerieMama: I'm thinking about getting a pedicure and seeing insurgent today! I have to go by myself though because everyone I know is working!

I have. 2.5 year old but I sent her to daycare today because I don't want to interrupt her routine too much. I'm keeping her with me tomorrow so we can play.

@SadieBee: I took dd to the children's museum on Tuesday and will do something fun with her again tomorrow. Window shopping sounds fun. I really need to get out of the house!

Get a pedicure! And see lots of movies in theaters. Oh and get your haircut! Clearly these are things I haven't made time to do yet post-LO :)

Are there any little outings that you'd enjoy doing now that would be harder to do once baby is here? Things like meeting a friend for lunch, going to a local museum, or even just getting a smoothie and window shopping for a little while? This is a good question, though - I'm still working (though I work from home, so I'm taking a pretty slow pace right now), so I can try to just focus on my work, but I'm getting really antsy at this point (38+6).

I'm starting to lose my mind!

I was planning on working until baby came but after having strep throat 3 times and viral respiratory infection my OB write me off work the week before my due date. I've been home for 4 days now and I'm losing my mind. Everything is clean, ready, packed, finished. I am so bored!!!! I've watched everything on Netflix and I really don't feel like laying around and reading.

What did you do to pass the time?
