My son just got glasses. He likes them tho. Can you try wearing them when she’s doing something fun?! While doing a favorite activity and maybe she won’t notice they are on. It may be because she knows it’s something “different “. I would also try while watching one show! Once it’s over just say i’ll have the glasses back- great job! I would keep the different activities up while wearing and that may help to the point that she just wears them!

Check out the Facebook group called For Little Eyes. It has great resources for parents of glasses wearers. https://www.facebook.com/groups/33422177467

My daughter was 5 when she started wearing glasses. She is far sighted. I thanked the pandemic for bringing her to the eye doctor. I was home when she was doing homework, learning to read and noticed she was always moving her head back and forth. I don't think I would have noticed as early if I had not been home with her. But anyway, it took her more than 1 year before she felt she needed them, where she goes and grab her glasses. So be patient, you daughter will get there. you should probably play games where he has to see something far... and she might have more fun with glasses on?

My son started wearing glasses at 2.5. It took about two weeks before something clicked and he was willing to wear them all day. We worked our way up by wearing a little at a time. He is very very nearsighted so I think he finally realized how much better he could see. But I remember thinking he would never wear them!! I remember reading books with characters with glasses, talking about other family members, favorite characters, etc who wear glasses and things like that.

My newly 3 yo DD just got her first pair of glasses. Does anyone have any tips to help her get used to wearing them full time? She complains about how they feel even though they're super flexible - I think they fit fine but it's a transition for her.

We've been aiming to wear them for longer and longer periods of the day but I haven't seen much difference in how she feels about it yet.
