Oh dear lord yes. DS is cutting a tooth and was up from 9pm til 2am last night (having gone to bed at 7). He also chose the same night to start pulling up in his cot! I've allowed myself to become spoiled with 8 hours sleep over the last few months so am really feeling it today!

Yes. I have this new thing of waking up at 4 a.m. and unable to go back to sleep. I want to cry when I see my baby sleeping on the monitor, but I"m not - WTF?!

Yes this last month of pregnancy has been rough physically as well as mentally. I work overnights and have to switch back and forth between days and nights. It's rough.

@ValentineMommy: @abmamma: maybe this time of life is why magazines always have women who say, "I look better at 45 than I did at 35!"
You know the machine of torture that sucked Westley's life away in Princess Bride?
Yeah, that.
I am hoping its just a SHORT phase- because I am not sure I can handle much more!!! (the good news, I am away for a business trip this weekend and have never been more excited to sleep!!)

Argh, yes. LO is 16 months, and I'm 9W pregnant with the second. Insomnia and constant nausea are killing my energy right now. I slept almost 10 hours Sun-Mon night and I was still SO exhausted Monday. I'm going to bed at like 8 nowadays (yikes, it's pathetic just to type it out).

@valentinemommy @lizzywiz: I'm in the same age/work/life boat. My 2 year old's sleep has been terrible for last few months. I feel like no one prepared me for this. I thought we wouldn't really have a problem until we transitioned her out of her crib (which we haven't done yet) but it now seems like all 2 year olds go through some terrible sleep regression. I had no idea.

@mrs. wagon: me, too! regarding the relieved to go to work part. I mean, I don't actually want to do the work but I am so glad to be toddler/husband/dog free.

@ValentineMommy: that's what scares me, too: what if this is the beginning of the end? What if this is the level of tired I can expect to feel FOREVER? Surely that can't be right, but it still worries me.

Maybe there's something up with moon cycles or something?!? LMW is going through the sleep regression of her LIFE and we are totally exhausted!! I cried almost every day for the past 5 days out of pure exhaustion. The long holiday weekend coincided with my period and I am RELIEVED to be at work today. Ugh.

YES...and I have a 2 year old. He's been having nightmares in the middle of the night...and while it's not enough for me to have to get up out of bed, he still wakes me up several times throughout the night with the yelling. I'm exhausted.

I went on a 3 day/2 night business trip last week, and sleeping in a dark hotel room with no monitor glow or noise was absolutely amazing.

@MamaCate: That's what I don't get- I feel like 1 wake-up with her at 2 1/2 is somehow more exhausting then the 3 wake ups when she was little...how is that possible?! Like you said, must be spoiled.

Oh right there today! Tired after a busy weekend and work out yesterday then dealt with what felt like non stop wake ups from LO who has a little cold. she was up at 8, 9, & 10 so I could wipe her nose, then again at 1, 2 & 4. It was quick getting her back into bed but still required me to get up and get her back in bed and then fall back asleep myself. I didn't realize how spoiled big kid sleep had made me!!

Right there with you. DD2 is teething which has so not been fun! And she's also still in our room whilst we wait to move into our new house, which means every time she wakes during the night, she immediately comes to the realisation that mummy is right there and she can get a free meal and snuggles because we can't let her cry it out with us in the room. Sigh. Three wake ups per night is no bueno for my 8 month old :-(

It has been a rough couple weeks here and I am just exhausted. LO has also taken to waking up early (5 a.m.) which gives me an extra hour or so of entertaining her before we leave for work and daycare. Awesome. And did I mention that she only has one volume setting? In the early hours of the morning it about kills me. It ranks somewhere between a cat howling in fury and 1,000 nails on a chalkboard on the disturbing level.

I don't know if it is because I am 35+ or because I WOH or because, deep down, I am just a lazy son of a gun, but I feel like I just get more exhausted with every passing year of motherhood.

I think it is time to plan a mama get away to a nearby hotel
