@MrsMccarthy: Yep, for my first pregnancy (i think i started later, at around 6 weeks) and he prescribed me prometrium when i was TTC so that i could take it as soon as i got a BFP. It was only because of my first miscarriage and i questioned the link. I've read that high estrogen + low progesterone can cause fibroid growth and heavy periods. But FYI, i took it after i got pregnant not before.

I had very heavy periods with clotting, one of the reasons i talked to my OB about possibly going on progesterone as soon as i got BFP. This was pre and post baby when i wasn't on birth control. I also have fibroids.

Oh yes! I've always had heavy cycles with lots of painful clotting. I'm 33 weeks pregnant with #2 so that doesn't seem to have had any effect on my pregnancies.

@MrsMccarthy: My naturopath suspected I had Hashimoto's, then tested for more issues after my 2nd m/c. It also took a while to conceive each time, which was suspicious.

I've had clots since I was a teenager and my aunt did as well, so I always assumed it was a family thing. I had no issues getting pregnant though.

@locavore_mama: thank you so much for sharing. Do you think it was related to breast feeding and hormones?

@Leialou: that's good to know that it can be normal. Praying for you to get pregnant very soon doll!

@Mrs.Someone: how did they catch the autoimmune issue? Was it something you were aware of prior?

I've been pregnant and I do have two small fibroids which may have grown during my ob did an internal and said uterus felt nice and tiny again. I am going back in at the end of this month but wondering what could be up.

Yes and no. I had trouble getting (and staying) pregnant and the problem wasn't fixed until I was on blood thinners. However, I haven't had a period once I was on them (got pregnant right away) so I don't know if it would've still been clotty. Clotting could be so many different issues, its hard to tell just from that if it could be a problem. My issue was autoimmune.

I haven't been pregnant, but I do have very heavy periods with lots of clotting. It's gross. I've had all sorts of tests done at the RE and everything came back normal. So I don't think heavy periods and clots mean something is wrong.

I have always had heavy periods but I honestly can't remember if I had this many large clots prior to having my son. If you don't mind sharing I would love to hear about your journey. Did you get pregnant easily? We're the clots related to an issue that required treatment? I'm so worried that these clots are an indication that something is wrong. We are on month 6 of TTC. Thank you. Feel free to wall me if you want privacy.
