@mrsjazz: I totally did not realize that was called wind relieving pose! Thought I came up with all by myself. I would never ever do it in front of my husband. I'd like to keep a shred of romance.

@zippylef: Hope you are feeling better!

@zippylef: As someone with IBS...it's time for some yoga! Obviously the Gas-X and stuff will work, but when I need fast relief I break out Child's Pose to Cobra and um, the Wind Relieving Pose (guess they call it that for a reason!) Oh and don't do this in front of your husband or he'll laugh hysterically at you--I know this from experience.

child's pose to cobra: http://www.bobbyaldridge.com/excercise/child_to_cobra.html

wind relieving: http://www.amanda-hamilton.com/yoga/wp-content/uploads/2011/05/Knee-to-chest.jpg

Well, drugs.com says:
Usual Adult Dose for Flatulence

40 to 125 mg orally after meals and at bedtime, not to exceed 500 mg/24 hours.

They list the pediatric dose as:
Usual Pediatric Dose for Flatulence

0 to <2 years: 20 mg orally 4 times a day.

2 to 12 years: 40 mg orally 4 times a day. For the 40 mg strips, allow 1 strip to dissolve on the tongue as needed after meals and at bedtime. Do not exceed 6 strips in 24 hours except under the advice and supervision of a physician.

So maybe that helps? I'd probably try two droppers and see how it goes. Because I'm super careful like that (aka NOT a doctor!!)

@Foodnerd81: It says the infant dose is one dropper (.5ml). Not sure how much an adult would need.... Can you tell I've already been staring at the bottle considering taking them? lol

@zippylef: I bet the infant drops would help, you might just need a bigger dose. They def sell the same ingredients for adults, just not sure of the dosage.

@Foodnerd81: I have infant simethicone drops. lol. I wasn't sure if it would do me any good to take them though. I have Little Tummies and Infacol.

I'll try doing some crunches or something.

I take it you don't have any Gas-X or simethicone in the house?

Have you tried.. um... expressing it all at once? Like go to another room, do some crunches and other moves that will help it move out? I find laying on my back and pulling my knees up to my chest, or being on my knees and elbows, with my butt up in the air, are good positions to help the gas out.

Can you tell I have IBS and deal with gas a lot? And that was PRE-preg.

This is so TMI but I need a solution. I was really sick with a particularly nasty bout of diarrhea yesterday, I was also feverish and showing some mild flu symptoms. Today, I feel MUCH better except I still have a little bit of the runs and really, really bad nasty gas. Gas so bad I can feel and hear it roiling around in my gut. Gas so bad DH could hear it roiling around in my gut from across the room. Im surprised the paint isn't peeling off the walls.

I tried Pepto and I'm currently trying to choke down a glass of water with baking soda in it. Anything else I can try? It's bedtime for us and I don't want to dutch oven my poor husband.
