@BabyPenguinXO: Have you asked your OB for a prescription cream? I have external, have since about mid pregnancy with my first, and they don't bleed but they get pretty uncomfortable. As long as I use the cream when they start bothering me, I never get to the point where I can't bear to sit and just want to be in the bath.

@BabyPenguinXO: prep h doesn't have any medical ingredients in it to help make the hemorrhoids smaller. You need a prescription for an actual ointment that will really help them. I'd mention it at your next appt, they won't even look at them. You can get the ointment or suppositories. The suppositories would probably be better for you, but not as comfortable. I got them at the end of my first pregnancy then they mostly went away soon after. Pretty much as soon as I got pregnant again they came back and have been horrible since. Especially these last few days as I'm getting close to the end.
Ice packs help, I freeze tuck pads and then stick them on my bottom and it helps quite a bit actually.

@Anagram: I get itchiness there and it will be uncomfortable to sit soemtimes for over an hour. I've also felt them... Tmi lol. I can feel the buldges and knots. I have turned around to flush to have the entire toilet red. You would think... Well that I lost the baby. It's terrifying and the toilet has been entirely red after I pee! But I can wipe and tell came from my rear and not the front! The tucks and prepH can give some relief but I want them gone so I'm gonna get them checked out after baby!

@BabyPenguinXO: I've heard they don't ever really go away, and if they bother you enough you can have day surgery (which is probably why your doctor said you can't do it while you are pregnant).

How do you know you have them, btw? I ask because I *have* had major constipation with both of my pregnancies because I'm on Zofran, and sometimes my issues are so bad, there is blood when I finally get it out (ahem), but it doesn't bother me afterward. Like, what are the symptoms?

I don't know if it's hemorrhoids or just a small tear I've experienced.

I've blocked out most of my pregnancy by now but I think I had those from being on Zofran and having baby's head so low for months. Misery! They might have just disappeared after delivery, maybe from eating so much fiber in seaweed soup? I wish you the same kind of relief!

I got them from giving birth to my daughter. They still flare up now and then and I'm 8 months postpartum. Super annoying. I wish they'd go away too.

@blackbird: ahh! Gotcha! I will have to talk go the doctor about them I suppose. But I'll just wait until after the baby to worry about it. There will be enough on my plate with an 18mo and a newborn coming early!

@BabyPenguinXO: Well hers were external and she delivered vaginally so...i wonder if yours won't bother you once you deliver, ya know? And yeah, she said it hurt hella bad, worse than her vag delivery!!! Because I delivered the same day and was like, OMG WORSE?!?!?! Cuz i mean...your vag hurts. Then your butt hurts. EVERYTHING HURTS, lol.

eta: my GI doc and OB both OK'd me to be on miralax. It really helps cut down on the irritation. And those flushable wet wipes help a lot, too

@blackbird: you know its not super frequently that the bug me! But I have a rather sensitive stomach and I'm pretty regular in the poo department so I think they have high chances of being irritated. I definitely want them gone. I'll be having a c section. She had them taken care of during delivery? That's curious I wonder if it was any additional discomfort. I can't imagine asking my poor OB to lance my asshole while they're down there! Hahahah :silly:

I have 'em. Did before I had E. They don't bother me. And you can have them removed after you have the baby since they bother you. A girlfriend of mine had them lanced immediately after, while she was all numbed up. You don't have to live with them, though. I would most certainly have had mine removed if they bothered me!

I developed internal hemmorhoids when pregnant with my son. I don't know how cause I never pushed and I don't recall being majorly constipated all the time if ever.

Tucks... PrepH. They're still here. He was born November 2013 and I gusss I just kind of ignored them and treated the flare up. Well im 21 weeks pregnant And they have been a major bother. Not usually toooooo uncomfortable but the blood loss is always terrifying. They definitely have times of discomfort.

Does anyone know if they can be cured? Am I stuck with them? My MFM said the doctor wouldn't do anything while im pregnant and I'm afraid to google. But I really hope I don't just have to live with them. I had them for a year after birth so I'm guessing they weren't going away on their own...
