@sorrycharlie: good news!
it's CRAZY what it can look like down there and how it (most of the time) goes back.

just in case anyone is nosy to know (I so would be), it wasn't my cervix! woohoo! but I'm not crazy, and there was something/is something there - my bladder is pressing down on the top (front?) wall of the vag and causing a bulge.

gotta do those kegels..

glad it wasn't my bits falling out! (as the OB so eloquently put it)

You are brave to even look! I left it alone and waited for the doctor to check it out. I hope there isn't another issue for you. My recovery was also a lot worse than the birth. :(

@sorrycharlie: it might be swollen still? trust me, it looked like franken-vag! took waaay more than 6 weeks, I was still black and blue and still swollen. I was even cleared for everything and was like, yeah right, noooo thank you.
I called a nurse friend who guessed it was prolapse or hymen - both of which isn't unusual to see after birth. But it was granulation tissue and took forever to go away. I was terrified of my appointment too.

@TurtleDoves: hand mirror! Just stood and positioned it to see :)

unfortunately.. I have a feeling this isn't a google-gone-wrong thing. So many people are cleared for sex at 6-wks and there's literally nowhere for anything to even go in there, so I can't imagine this is in any way normal :( I'm terrified of my appt!!

@sorrycharlie: omg....I want to block google from your computer. But, I am the same way:/
I am crossing my fingers for you that it is NOT what you think it is....and even if it is, I have heard that the prognosis is good....so, hopefully it is just a little molehill, if anything at all:/
P.S: how the heck did you manage to get a good look at it? I've been trying to check out my stitches but can't figure out how ...sorry TMI

@sorrycharlie: aw it could be nothing at all. My sil had a prolapse and a good pelvic health physio can make a world of difference. Definitely worth getting one who specializes in pelvic health though, to properly diagnose and give the right exercises. It's still early days though so could easily be part of healing.

Don't Google and freak yourself out, #1! I did the same thing, I had some granulation tissue from my episiotomy and thought my guts were falling out and I was ruined forever. I was so scared I waited to make an appointment (I discovered this after my 6 week appt). When I went they said it was normal and now at 10 months postpartum, it's gone.
Things at 6 weeks or even sometimes more look totally different from what you're used to and can still change and heal.

so this thursday I'll be 6 weeks postpartum. my appointment is friday. I know it's bad to google but..

I took a peek and my cervix is totally visible about an inch into my vagina. I googled and this apparently is prolapse. has anyone else dealt with this? I am working myself into a full blown anxiety attack.

sorry for the TMI...but google is making me cry!

I think it's just the end of my rope this week..I got an easy, quick birth, but a horrible 5-week painful recovery, over supply and blocked ducts, mastitis and now thrush...and now this.
