@NurseMommy: Mine came and went as my body readjusted to different levels of weaning. Everyone is different, though.

@Radish: Hm, this seems to make sense to me! So will it not go away then until I'm fully done weaning?

It could be hormones from the gradual weaning. A lot of the symptoms when weaning are similar to those from early pregnancy as your hormones readjust. I also went through some nipple issues around one year when she naturally started dropping feeds.

@Kemma: pretty sure it's not thrush... She's gotten four teeth before and I haven't had any problems... And I've had af back for 6 months!!

My first though would be thrush but I have heard that LO's saliva can be irritating and acidic during teething so could it be that?

It could also be AF returning, I tend to get sensitive nipples from ovulation to AF which can be made worse by lazy toddler latch!

I'm suffering with exactly the same thing. Pretty sure it's not thrush or mastitis. I have no idea why it's started now.
Could you be pregnant?

My dd is almost 13 months old and has been breastfed her entire life. Obviously, she is on a significant number of solids now, and she also has cow's milk. Since I started back to work a month ago, we only bf once, MAYBE twice a day, but it can vary due to me working random 12 hour shifts. Sometimes we'll go two days without, some days she'll feed 3-4 times.

I'm suddenly having major nipple sensitivity. Like, sitting at work, nipples itchy and painful to touch anything sensitivity. Anyone know what's up with that??
