I was advised to shave or it will be done for me before OR. I shaved myself the night before my scheduled C section. I couldn't see much but did it by touch and feel. I am use to it and was glad I did it. I think if it was done at the hospital, there's a chance pubic hair would still be on the hospital bed you operate on. I didn't want to take any chances. I didn't have any problems during recovery. </p> <p>With my second, I also had a planned section. I was on team who cares throughout pregnancy, so I admit it was every man for himself down there. I was shaved with an electric razor in pre-op and it was so itchy before surgery even started. </p> <p>I've had 4 ingrown hairs since then, one when I was 6 days PP that got so infected I was in excruciating pain and had to be seen by my OB twice because it was right on my incision line. It hurt more than my actual c-section recovery.</p> <p>Moral of the story: GROOM. Groom.
