My husband works a lot so I end up solo parenting a lot on top of having a stressful job myself. It's hard work but so worth it!!

@travelgirl1: I think you'd be fine too if you solo parented for weeks at a time! You are strong! And really, mamas just do what they have to do and no matter how tough, just seem to manage. It's actually not as difficult as it sounds- but I still have wine after her bedtime every single night!!!

Daddy has to go make that money so we get over it, lol!

@PrincessBaby: I do think of you when I'm mad that DH isn't helping enough, you are simply amazing! Three weeks at a time! You deserve vodka as well :)

@rachiecakes: Ha ha, remember Mrs Train's post about her boys crib jumping? It might keep him entertained so you can get more stuff done :)

@travelgirl1: haha thanks! maybe I will!
It is crazy the things you come up with to get stuff done. We have a giant circular gate in our living room that I have a video monitor on. So I can at any time either leave DS in the play area, or his crib or the bedroom (totally baby-proofed, gated and across from the bathroom), for at least a few minutes until I'm done putting on makeup, washing the dishes, folding laundry, etc.
When DS learns how to get out of the crib and over the gates, I don't know what I'm going to do!!

I def have wine when H goes down for the night! DH works offshore 3 weeks at a time and we have no family here... He won't be home until March 14!

I have thought the same thing about single parents! You hang in there! You're doing great, Mama!!!

@rachiecakes: You deserve the wine every single day! I think the worst thing is wondering how the heck to go to the bathroom.

I also feel I deserve that glass of wine at the end of the week, so thank you. :)

DH works most nights and weekends so when I'm not at work, most of the time I'm a single mom (DH HATES when I say that, haha). Brings multi-tasking to a whole new level! I'm super jealous of moms with family nearby or DH's that are home during the weekends, what I would've give for a nap or a solo shopping trip sometimes!!

...you are amazing! Fact!

DH is laid up with a bad cold for the fourth day in a row and we have no family here so it's just me looking after A and trying to dodge germs in our one bedroom apartment. The day before this happened I told DH I was so tired I was dizzy and I needed him to give me a break the next day because I was running on fumes. He said he defo would, but then woke up sick. I think the excitement from A's tests on Friday gave me a boost that has got me through since then :)
Anyway, I just wanted to say that anyone who does solo parenting regularly deserves a pat on the back, a medal, and a big, fat glass of wine :)
