Oh jk I just looked at my post history, and I was 36 weeks, 2cm dilated, and 80% effaced. I think I was 100% effaced by 39 weeks.

No real advice but I'll share my experience. I had a LEEP too and thought I would need a cerclage, but my OBs never suggested it. I'm not sure if the LEEP contributed to this, but I did dilate early - I think I was 2cm dilated at 36 weeks, 3cm by 38 weeks, and when they checked me the day before my water broke at 39w1d, I was 4cm dilated and pretty well effaced (I don't remember the stats). But I'm guessing if your office is mentioning it and you've had some spotting, I'd probably go with their suggestion. I have heard they are pretty successful.

Dh's cousin had one. It's what kept her from losing the baby. And even then, she delivered prematurely at 32 weeks. My only experience is on the outside looking in, but it was scary high risk

i am 16wk4d with my first and went in last week to be checked due to some light spotting and they found that, while the baby looked great, my cervix had shortened. i was on bed rest and put on progesterone suppositories.

went back today for a follow up and my cervix has stayed the same, but is still considered short. my doctor said that she would be willing to due a cerclage since i had a leep done in the past and that might be the cause of this. she wants me to think it through first before making a decision and just trying to figure out what to do.

anyone have any experience with success with cervical cerclage?
