One thing I would consider (no experience with this age gap myself, I look after another toddler as well as my own) is the effect naps will have on the arrangement. For example, if your toddler naps once, at lunch, and the baby naps two or three times a day, would they really have much play together time? And would the nanny be tied to the house all day to accommodate naps?

We opted out of a nanny share where this would be the age difference. I was worried that my son would not be able to do as many things (playdates, classes, etc) with a newborn and I knew that we also wanted to try for #2 and wouldn't be able to use the same nanny if we did that.

I don't use a nanny share but an in-home day care. There are 2 kids older than my toddler and then a little girl maybe 9 months younger. I think it's been nice because she had to learn to be gentle with the baby and then the older kids are always trying to teach her things. Ideally I'd love someone else her age, but it's hard to find the perfect situation.

My DD is 22 months old and has been in a nanny share arrangement with another little girl her age for over a year. We just found out that the other family will be leaving the share later this summer (they recently moved a little further away to accomodate LO #2 who will be arriving soon) and we are starting to look for a new family. Aside from the financial benefits, one of the things we like about a nanny share is the ability for DD to interact/play with another child on a daily basis. I am worried that it will be difficult to find another toddler and wondering how well a toddler and a baby will be able to play together given a year or more age difference. Do any Bees have any experience with or thoughts about a toddler/baby nanny share situation?
