Maybe try and sit her on the potty for 10 mins every day and see how it goes. DS is 20 months and they have been telling me he's ready at daycare for a few monhs because he says poop when he goes in his diaper. I think he recognizes he needs to be changed but isn't ready for full on PT yet so we've just been introducing the potty.

LO sometimes says "poopy diaper" but I know she's not totally ready for the potty yet. Haven't experienced it with pee but honesty I would just keep changing her. Potty learning could be right around the corner and I wouldn't want to discourage that. If you're using disposable diapers I would consider switching to the cheapest ones you can find while at home and not asleep. Sounds like there won't be enough pee for leaks anyway.

Yes, she says "I stinky, I need diaper" and will run and get it. Just with poop though not when she's wet.

Agree with PPs that it sounds like the perfect time to start potty training!

Our LO does this, but instead of for pee, she does it every time she farts! haha. She says she pooped and brings us a new diaper. We let her wear training panties or nothing at all when we're home, there have been accidents but this week she pooped on the toilet 3x so it's something.

Can you try pull-ups or training panties?

I would say that's a good hint she might be ready for the potty. :) we trained at 22.5 months and it was so great to be done with diapers, at least during the day.

LO started talking about pee and poop at 24 months but she didn't want to use the potty. We tried the 3 day training method at 27 months and it clicked (for the most part...still working on poops) for her.

Is it maybe time to consider moving away from diapers? LO never asked to have her diapers changed, but she showed other signs of readiness.

DD's 22 months old and has recently started to ask for her diaper to be changed. It would be a great if she didn't ask all the time!

Right after we change her, she brings us one of her diapers and says, "pee pee". At first, she waited awhile and we'd end up changing her, even though she really didn't need changing (but she was wet). Now she's kind of obsessed with her diapers and always asks to be changed.

I want to encourage her awareness, but at the same time, I don't want to waste diapers. Anyone else go through this? Any and all advice appreciated!
