My tall 2.5 yo loves wearing hers. It's a little big but doable. Next time we plan to do some traveling I'm planning to just buy him a small wheeling suitcase/bag that fits under the airplane seat so that he can have a good time pulling it and we can also pack "real" items into it to lighten our own loads. We have a Patagonia backpack that it doesn't look like they sell anymore (bought 2 years ago) but it is a 12L pack to give you an idea on size. He wore it to preschool when he first started, at 19 mos, and we took it on a plane trip this summer (age 3.5) and are still able to stuff it pretty full with his necessities - mostly toys, a couple books, maybe even a diaper and change of clothes. It is not large enough for school notebooks which I remember being a complaint on the reviews when we bought it, I guess people were getting them for their younger school-aged children.
