my LO is in a crib sized toddler bed too -- we switched him before he was 2.5 and he will be 3 soon. he's really tall though, taller than many 4 year olds, so i'd say it works pretty well!

We got C an Ikea toddler bed (def not twin sized) and he has tons of space. We'll probably keep him in it at least to kindergarten before going to a real twin. It just depends on how our house changes between now and then. As long as he's comfortable, I see no need to change.

LO1 was in a toddler bed (converted from crib) for over a year. We needed the crib for LO2, and he transitioned to a twin size floor bed. He moves around a lot in his sleep, and the twin gives him more space.

My daughter is on the taller side, and she'll be 3 in June. She's been sleeping in her converted crib to toddler bed, but we just bought her a twin daybed from pottery barn, so once we move, she's going to go into a twin. She's super excited to get a big girl bed, so I wouldn't rush it until K's ready. Unless you need the crib for #2, then I would make the transition to toddler bed and then regular bed over the next few months.

My DS is huge for his age and still has a ton of room to grow. He's just two, but the size of an average 3 year old.

My daughter's in toddler bed! She'll be in it until she outgrows it or we buy her a bed. She will be 3 in June. No plans to get out of it soon.

If you used a toddler bed or converted your crib to toddler bed, how long did you use it? I just read a blogger whose 4 year old is still sleeping a toddler bed. I was surprised she could use it still!
