We can make our crib into a toddler bed, but it doesn't convert to a regular sized bed (we decided against a convertible crib for a few reasons). When we're ready to do DS's big boy room, we're either going to do a twin with a trundle (for sleepovers) or a full with a trundle if the room is big enough.

My LO is still in a crib. Yikes! With a new baby in the house we did not want him coming out of his room at night. So we got lazy but we should transition him at some point soon. Our bed converts to a toddler bed so perhaps we'll just start with that.

Since our crib converts into a toddler bed we might just convert it but if we have another baby on the way by then we may buy a full size bunk bed

@Mrs. Bee: twin is too small I guess?

We have never co-slept so I don't plan on it but I guess you never know?

LO currently sleeps on a floor mattress (we co-sleep) in his room and he loves it. He actually WANTS to go to sleep sometimes and boy, I hope that doesn't change! He likes having the room to roll around a bit so a full-sized matress was perfect for us.

my friends that got twins regretted it and wished they got full sized beds.

our crib transitions to a toddler bed (with an expensive attachment we need to buy), but i think i'd rather do a floor bed instead.

I would get a twin sized bed and put up railings.. They grow so fast!

I think for us it depends on when we do it/if we have another baby. The plan is to keep the crib for the baby and get another bed for LO, so we'd have to discuss the size. But if there is no other baby the crib will convert to a toddler bed which makes our decision for us.

We actually bought a full size because we end up sleeping with her half the time! We're trying to transition her out of co-sleeping with us, so I usually lay down with her to get her to sleep and then slip away to my own bed. She's used to sleeping in a big bed, so I think it makes sense to her.

If you've already transitioned out of the crib, did you buy a toddler bed or regular bed? Or for those who haven't done it yet, what do you plan on doing?

I think I am leaning towards getting a twin sized bed with the railing on one side and then the other side pushed up against the wall. Trying to decide ....
