We're skipping the toddler bed also. BIL gave us his and DS keeps rolling out of it, every single night. So we're going with a daybed that extends to a king.

We have the Davinci Moderna from Amazon. It looks nice and I don't we will have any issues with it lasting for the amount of time we will need it!

@petunia354: ummm I didn't because I'm a dodo, but I really like the uptown bed! And it's not too expensive.

I'm guessing you checked out Land of Nod? I like the Uptown toddler bed.. Other than that, I know IKEA has a bunch of options. My parents have a crib from there that DS sleeps in every day and it's actually held up well.

Hopefully someone will chime in with some real life experience :)

@hilsy85: Yea, I guess depending on the wall that you're placing it, those few inches could def free up the room with a toddler bed!

@mrsjyw: but I feel like the frame must add a few inches as well, and i just think with a higher/bigger profile it will make the room look more cramped...I could remeasure I guess.

Ikea has some adjustable bed options, search Toddler bed and you should find them.

@hilsy85: I figured you wanted the toddler bed for less square footage more than anything, but when I was shopping for DS' bed, I noticed that there was maybe a few inches difference between twins and most toddler beds!

I don't know if they do anything other than crib to toddler bed conversions, but we've loved our furniture from PB Kids.

@travelingnanny: @mrsjyw: we don't have room for a twin bed in his room, I am pretty sure...he will be sharing with LO2, so we will have a bed and a crib, and bookshelf, and dresser, and glider...and the room is only about 10x11!

@travelingnanny: I think a lot of them go up to 50lbs which would be like a 6 year old, so hoping he could be in it for at least another 2 years or so.

We skipped the toddler bed and went to a twin. It didn't take up much more space than a toddler bed and I think it'll last a lot longer! We ordered DS' set on Wayfair!

I say skip a toddler bed and go right to a twin. Toddler beds always seem like a waste of money since they are only a short term solution.

That said amazon, ikea, and Walmart have cute options for around $50 without mattress.

We need to order LO a toddler bed this summer. Any recommendations? I like the Oeuf ones but they are so expensive! I prefer something that comes in light wood or white...
