I didn't see the point of buying a toddler bed, I figured we would just have to buy another bed by the time he is 4-5 years old. At first we used his infant mattress (also used as a toddler mattress) but he kept falling off so we used a twin instead. We have an extra twin that we were thinking of using without the box spring to make it a little lower to the ground. It would be nice to not buy a new bed and new mattress just for the toddler stage. </p>
